Mad Detective: Will the real murderer please stand up
Bun is a cop savant, a master of the illogical who uses intuition to crack cases. He recreates one crime (before he goes mad) by having himself packed into a suitcase and pitched down several flights of stairs.
Aha! “The ice-cream girl did it!”
After Bun goes mad he envisions the alter egos of other characters in a case break into reality and mix things up. A cop goes missing and we are thrown into the hall of mirrors of Bun's hallucinations. Much dark comedy ensues.
A fun thriller that transcends the jarring violence of a typical Hong Kong cop film by mashing elements of Van Gogh (!), Hitchcock and Kurosawa’s Rashomon.
